You are at a café counter. The server says: “Hi, what can I get you?” Order a drink and something to eat, ask a question about it, and pay.
You need a colleague's help before a deadline. They say: “Hey, what's up?” Explain what you need, acknowledge they're busy, and agree on a time.
You are lost in a city. A passer-by says: “You look a bit lost — need a hand?” Ask how to get to the train station and check you've understood.
You are at a clinic. The doctor says: “What seems to be the problem?” Describe a headache you've had for three days and answer their questions.
You arrive at a hotel. The receptionist says: “Good evening, do you have a reservation?” Check in, mention a problem (no reservation found), and sort it out.
You are in an interview. The interviewer says: “Thanks for coming in. To start, tell me a little about yourself.” Answer, then handle two follow-up questions.
You want to return a jacket that has a broken zip. The assistant says: “Hi, how can I help?” Explain the problem and ask for a refund or exchange.
In a team meeting, your manager says: “Can you give us a quick update on where things stand?” Give a 30–60 second update: progress, a blocker, next steps.
