Speakflew is not a certified speaking test, placement test or professional assessment, and nothing here should be used to prove your English to anyone.

A Speaking Snapshot does rate your response for fluency, grammar, vocabulary, clarity and completion. Those ratings are coaching estimates drawn from the text we captured, not marks. We never give a single overall score and never assign you a CEFR level, because a transcript cannot support either claim. Pronunciation and accent are not rated at all.

Levels are CEFR-inspired

Levels A1–C1 are used loosely, to help you choose suitable practice. They are described as “CEFR-inspired” and are not an official CEFR placement.

Pronunciation feedback is limited

In-browser speech recognition does not provide phoneme-level analysis. Where we compare your speech to a reference, we report transcript similarity — how closely the words matched — not “pronunciation accuracy”. We do not produce per-sound scores.

Activity time is not speaking time

Timers describe time in an activity and may include silence, reading or typing. Word counts describe the captured text, which can contain recognition errors.

Automated feedback has limits

Speech recognition may omit or mishear words, so check the transcript before acting on a suggestion. A Speaking Snapshot reviews the language of what was captured; it is coaching feedback, not a graded assessment, and it never judges pronunciation or accent.
